Craig Markham Loves to Watch and Play Sports

As a lifelong resident of Kitchener Ontario, Craig Markham has been surrounded by sports his entire life. He has played on different casual and semi-professional leagues and teams, and follows many professional sports as a hobby. Canada is one of many countries that takes sports and sporting events seriously. As a nation, there are two sports that are held above all others, lacrosse and ice hockey. These two contact sports are considered to be the official sports of the country. In addition, there are four sports played in the region on a professional level, with teams and leagues of their own. These are football, soccer, baseball, and basketball.

There are many team sports in Canada. Including the four professional sports, a resident can also find cricket, rugby, curling, ultimate frisbee, and Quidditch. Canadians who enjoy individual sports have many to choose from, such as boxing, motorsports, wrestling, golf, and judo. Not to be forgotten are the sports of cycling, mixed martial arts, and marksmanship. While the professional and team style sports hold their own events and championships each year, there are also three different multi-sport events held annually in the country. Residents enjoy watching the Canada Games that started in Quebec City, as well as the Commonwealth Games of Ontario and the Olympic Games. Canada has played host to the Olympics three times. Being active in sports has helped Craig Markham stay physically fit for his job as a Police Constable and Correctional Officer.
